Congregation’s History

In 1993 the church work was started in the Harrisonburg area when Ken Patterson moved his family here from Florida.  At first they met in their business office.  Soon after the move, Ken found several other families in the Shenandoah area that were looking for sound, conservative Christians to meet and worship with.   In 1994 an evangelist Chuck Scott joined the work to help spread the gospel.  In 1996 the congregation moved to a small rented facility and had about 11 members.  Also that year the congregation aquired the land on covenant drive to build a 60 x 200 ft. building.  It was completed in Nov 1997.

Chuck Scott continued to work with the congregation until December, 2008.  Chuck retired and moved to south Georgia.  Six men of the congregation took turns presenting sermons with an occasional visiting preacher.  Jim Bell, evangelist, started a full time work with the congregation on in October of 2010.
